The Hire and Rental Industry Association and the American Rental Association are dedicated to building relationships and creating educational opportunities for their members. The International Business Leadership Exchange Program is a three-week program that gives young hire industry professionals the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally and establish international connections in the industry. This program bridges cultures, builds global relationships and creates new leadership opportunities within the equipment and event hire and rental industry.
HRIA EXCHANGE CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Have participated as a mentee as a part of the HRIA Young Professionals or Women in Hire Development Program – open to all past and present program participants.
- Are between the ages of 21 and 40.
- Have demonstrated leadership and self-initiative through involvement in education, career and community.
- Have demonstrated a strong passion for learning.
- Are employees of a HRIA hire member business.
- Have the support of their employer to participate in a 3 week exchange program
- Are able to travel for a 3 week period in February 2027 to complete the exchange with an ARA Member Company and then attend the ARA Show from 13 February – 17 February in New Orleans, Louisiana.
HRIA EXCHANGE CANDIDATE SELECTION DETAILS:
This is a competitive program with defined selection criteria.
The HRIA National Office will shortlist applications based on the defined selection criteria. Face-to-face or online interviews will be arranged with the shortlisted candidates. A final decision on the exchange candidate will then be made based on the selection criteria and interview.
The HRIA CEO will serve as the point of contact. The selected participant will be matched with a hire/rental industry business that matches their selected career experience, and will either be placed with host families involved with the host hire/rental industry business. Or alternatively accommodated at a nearby hotel, apartment or other accommodation.
